FTAN Lagos State Chapter Cordinator Enjoins Tourism and Hospitality practitioners to Comply with New Covid-19 guidelines

Lagos State Tourism Hospitality, Art and Culture Economic Summit ( LATHACE 2021)

In compliance with the latest covid-19 restriction in Lagos State released by the State Governor Sanwo- Olu, in order to curb the spread of virus in Lagos State, the Coordinator Lagos State Chapter of the Federation of Tourism Association of Nigeria FTAN Mr. Dauud Gbenga Sunmonu enjoins the hospitality, Event centres and nightclubs to adhere strictly to the new covid-19 restrictions protocols for the safety of the public and to curb the virus from spreading further.

According to Mr Sunmonu the hospitality, tourism and the entertainment industry have been most affected by the covid-19 lockdown and restrictions since March 2020 till date.
Therefore to curb the second wave of the pandemic that could lead to a  total lockdown of the economy if the spread is not controlled.

Failure to comply with this guidelines may inflict more hardship to the industry and the economy as some Nightclubs and event centers were flunting and outrightly disobeying this guidelines whereby leading to the Lagos State government shutting them down.

The Lagos State Government on Friday 18th December announced the ban of parties, nightclubs, large gatherings, also restrictions operations of Churches and Mosques in the State. Worship centres are instructed to hold their services maximum of two hours with a maximum gathering of fifty percent of the hall capacity. Eventually planners must get clearance from the Lagos State Safety Commission.

He also said that stakeholders should comply with the ‘No Facemask No Entry’ rules in their facilities and ensure that sanitizers and washing hand basins are available at the point of entry and other required places.
Mr. Sunmonu stated that the fight against covid-19 virus is a collective responsibility and everyone must be involve to flatten  the curve so we can move forward to win this global health challenges.

Lagos State Tourism Hospitality, Art and Culture Economic Summit ( LATHACE 2021) coming up on the 25th March, 2021 at Eko hotel and Suits Victoria Island Lagos.

He Stated that preparation is on going has the Lagos State Chapter of FTAN is prepared to organize a first of its kind Summit in Lagos State.

The Summit will be Chaired by the Governor of Lagos State, Mr Babajide Sanwo Olu and the Key note address delivered by Mr Olaniyi Yusuf,MD Verraki and Partners.

It will be an inclusive program as all Agencies of government relating with all segments of the Industry will be there and will have the opportunity of interreacting with key stakeholders.

He stated that the Summit will create opportunities to solve any lingering issues with any Agency of the Lagos State government and open a new vista of relationship in moving forward.
Attendance is strictly by Invitation and in line with Covid 19 guidelines
