Cross River State Commissioner for Health, Dr (Mrs) Inyang Asibong, gives back to society – solicits support for Sen. ( Prof.) Ben Ayade’s re-election as Governor of CRS, Senator Gershom Bassey for Senator and Rt. Hon. Apostle Essein Ayi as Member House of Representative; representing Calabar South Senatorial District come March 2019.

Massive crowd were gathered at the residence of the Hon. Commissioner of Health Dr. (Mrs) Inyang Asibong to celebrate the new year as she hosts her constituency in Calabar South on the 1st of January, 2019.

This year, she invited the wife of the Cross River State Governor Her Excellency Dr Linda Ayade, the wife of the Deputy Governor Her Excellency Mrs Omotunde Ivara Esu and a host of other dignitaries which includes, the Senator representing the Southern Senatorial District of the State, Sen. Gershom Bassey,

The Member Representing Calabar South, Calabar Municipality, Akamkpa and Bakassi Federal Constituency, Rt. Hon. Apostle Essien Ayi, the members representing Calabar South Constituency 1, Hon. Joseph Bassey, and Constituency 2, Hon. Ephraim Okon. Also present was the Commissioner for Information and Orientation, Barr. Rosemary Archibong, and her colleague in the Ministry of Women Affairs, Hon. Stella Odey, the Director General of the Ayade Campaign Organization, Barr. Effiok Cobham and a host of other dignitaries who took turns to air their unwavering support to the Ayade Movement.

The Governor’s Wife Dr Linda Ayade in her speech, said that since the appointment of the Commissioner for health Dr Mrs Inyang Asibong, the Commissioner has always come to felicitate with her Constituency Calabar South every January 1st and distribute gifts to her people. She also added that this year, it was also a good opportunity to solicit for the votes of the people of Calabar South in the upcoming 2019 election for her husband Prof Ben Ayade as Governor of Cross River State for the 2nd term

If the response of the mammoth crowd at the Calabar South residence of Dr. Inyang Asibong where the entire Calabar South constituents hosted by the wife of the Governor, Her Excellency Dr. Linda Ayade is anything to go by, then Calabar South is already in the bag come March, 2019, for the Governor and the People’s Democratic Party (PDP).

The event witnessed the distribution of Christmas largesse organized by the Wife of the Governor to the women and youths of the constituency as she felicitates’ them whilst canvassing for support for the Governor, as it was dedicated to the re-election campaign of His Excellency, Sen. (Prof.) Ben Ayade.

The Chief Organizer of the event, Dr. Inyang Asibong said the event is one of many she has been giving back to the society, but this is very special to her as it is dedicated to the re-election campaign of the supersonic Governor of the State, High Chief (Sen.) (Prof.) Benedict Bangashuye Ayade. 

Dr Inyang Asibong is a visionary, idealistic and a remarkable extraordinaire. She is a goal-getter and a trail blazer who’s humility and team spirit has earned her several accolade and awards, both national and International.  She has received awards in recognition for her outstanding performance.

The following are some of her achievements

  • Successfully organized the first ever State Health Summit;
  • First to successfully organize State Council on Health following the call by the Federal Ministry of Health;
  • Developed first toll-free Mobile phones for Health facilities across the State;
  • Calabar Municipality first city in the world close to achieving the 90:90:90 HIV/AIDS target;
  • The only South South State in the country to winning bidding rights of MTN Foundation support project to renovate Maternal wards of the General Hospital, Calabar;
  • Guided the State to a drastic reduction in institutional mortality rate to an all time low of 28%;
  • Model State for the fight against NTDs globally by RTI International and USAID;
  • Emerged State with the best child survival indices by UNICEF;
  • She Won the World Bank’ award for the most improved State on Health;

In her response She said the awards are only a motivation to do more, adding that she owes it all to God, the people of Cross River State and His Excellency, Sen. Prof. Ben Ayade for his mentor ship.
